Ms.Oki was born in Turkey, and has taught in Japan and Nepal. Her favorite thing to do is collect passport stamps!

This is my 22nd year in education, but my first year at Summit.
Two things I am excited about this school year:
My favorite aspect of working with students is building meaningful relationships and connections. I value getting to know each student as an individual, including their interests, strengths, and preferences. This understanding allows me to intentionally incorporate what matters to them into lessons, making the content more relevant, engaging, and accessible. I believe that strong relationships are foundational to learning, and I apply this same approach when working with teachers to foster trust, collaboration, and meaningful professional growth.

I have lived on three continents, I am a Smoky Hill graduate, and I love to shop!

I have been teaching for 9 years, in CCSD as a Gifted Learning Teacher for 6, and this is my fourth year at Summit!

My husband and I went to rival colleges (Alabama and Auburn) so our wedding cake was half of each football stadium - Roll Tide!!! We do not have any kids, but we do have two amazing golden retrievers, Luna and Leo!

I have a middle schooler that keeps me on my toes. I love to read, travel, and spend time with my family. I love animals and have a cat, a dog, and two birds.

My family and I spend a lot of time outdoors. My daughter is 8 and my son is 4. We also have a dog named Blue who is 7. We love to spend time in the mountains and by the water.

This is my 5th year at Summit.
Two things I am excited about this school year:
My favorite thing about working with students is all the relationships I get to build. It makes sharing in their learning all that more rewarding. The ah-ha moments students have when they discover something they didn't know before is very gratifying. I hope to make an impact with the students I work with, but more importantly, I hope they know the impact they have on me.
Some interesting facts about me:
My first career was in computer programming. I have one daughter that attends Smoky Hill High School. My favorite place in the world is reading a book on the beach.

Bringing a smile or laugh to students, and guiding them to become more independent.
Some interesting facts about me:
I love hiking, biking, and playing poker or chess. My daughter and I watch almost every Nuggets game together, and I am a Broncos fan. My mom went to South High in Denver, but I was born and raised in California. I met my wife playing co-ed soccer in Seattle. We moved to Birmingham Alabama, Pullman Washington, and Corvallis Oregon before landing in Colorado.
