Heritage Club

Dear Parent(s)/Guardians,                                                              September, 2016

We are so excited to invite all girls currently in Third, Fourth, or Fifth grade (regardless of ethnicity) to be part of our Heritage Club here at Summit.  The purpose of our club is to provide a place to celebrate our cultures, and to enjoy activities which promote friendship, and encourage leadership skills in our young girls. This will be the Sixth year that the club has been meeting, and during past years, it has been successful and lots of fun. During the 2016-2017 school year, we will again be involved in service projects; as well as activities which include learning about each member's heritage. We usually begin each meeting with a snack and relaxing chat, and after a few minutes begin the more "formal" part of the meeting.  We focus on getting to know each other; sharing the culture of our families; and successfully completing projects and activities. Our main goal is to practice respecting and helping each other while learning the rules of order in a club setting.

Our club will meet weekly on Wednesdays*** after school until 4:30pm. You will need to pick up your child in front of Summit at 4:30pm. The beginning session will be on September 14, 2016, and we will meet weekly until the end of March 2017. Should there be a Wednesday when we are not meeting, you will be informed. We hope your child will be able to join us in our efforts to have a wonderful Heritage Club 2016-2107 year!

                                                                    Sincerely,

Rochele Rattiner-Speech/Language Pathologist, and Judy Geiger-Jennings SPED Teacher
